Epoxy Flooring Coverage: What You Need to Know

Epoxy flooring is a great choice for industrial floors, clean rooms, and more. But before you get started, figuring out how much material you need can be confusing. This guide breaks down everything you need to know about epoxy flooring coverage in simple terms.

Epoxy Flooring in Layers:

Think of your epoxy floor like in layers:

  1. Primer (Sealer): This first layer acts like sealer, sealing the concrete for better adhesion. You might need one or two coats, depending on how porous your concrete is.
  2. Screed (Levelling): Next comes the screed, which is used for surface levelling & also used in heavy traffic movement areas. This layer, available in thicknesses from 1mm to 6mm, creates a smooth and level surface.
  3. Topcoat (Final Touch): Finally, the topcoat is the final finish on your epoxy flooring. This is where you choose your color and create a beautiful finished look.

Understanding Epoxy Coverage:

Each layer of epoxy flooring has a specific coverage rate, which tells you how much area one kit or container can cover at a certain thickness. Here’s a breakdown of our Evoshine products and their coverage:

  • Evoshine EP11 Primer: Available in 10kg and 40kg packs, 1kg covers roughly 50-60 square feet for two coats.
  • Evoshine ES22 Screed: One kit (18kg) covers 12 square meters at a thickness of 1mm.
  • Evoshine ET21 Topcoat: One kit (14kg) covers 11 square meters at a thickness of 1mm.

Choosing the Right Coverage:

The coverage you need depends on the size of your floor and the desired thickness of each layer. With this information, you can easily choose the right Evoshine products and quantities for your project.
